SHELTER | Silver Gelatin Print — Limited Edition 1/10
Price range: 160 € through 190 €
Hands as shelter. This frame does not speak of the body as an object — it speaks of a gesture of protection, of an instinct that needs no explanation. Light falls softly, without judgment, revealing what is intimate but not private: the need to feel safe in one’s own skin, to protect oneself, to find refuge within. The analog grain makes this closeness tangible.
Description
Hands as a sanctuary. This frame does not treat the body as an object—it bears witness to a gesture of protection, an instinct that requires no explanation. The light falls softly, without judgment, revealing what is intimate rather than merely private: the universal need to feel secure in our own skin, to protect ourselves, and to find peace within.
The analogue process as essence. Here, black and white photography is not a stylistic choice, but a necessity. By stripping away color, only pure emotion and texture remain. The natural analogue grain makes this intimacy tangible, while Ilford Multigrade FB (Fiber Base) paper captures the transitions between light and shadow with a depth that remains unreachable for digital media. The skin and hands acquire a volume that can almost be felt beneath the fingertips.
Each of the ten prints in this series is a unique work of art. They are printed by hand, one by one, in the silence of my darkroom, with total devotion to every tone and detail.
